Okay so let me first introduce myself - my name is Thomas Burns aka Mr Skinflint and for the pass 10 years I have been seeking ways to make extra money and so far I have not achieved much aside from a few extra grand a year through surveys, which is time consuming and very low pay for the amount of work required.

The plan is now to try some new ways to make approximately £10K per month, which to me would be a very satisfying income and enough for me to take this up full time.

I am inviting you on my journey over the next few years during which I will more than likely fail to achieve this goal but I am likely on the way to evaluate the validity of a number of so called get rich schemes

Day 2: Going All Out

It is suffice to say that I have decided to go all out today betting £87 on today's tips and leaving just £29 in my account:



I realise this is against the advice of BernardTips but I am hoping the success rate of their tips is similar to yesterday and they get at least 6 out of their 8 predictions right. If they don't, however, I still have £29 in my account which does allow me to bet £2 per day for the next 14 days assuming no bets win.

If I do win today I will tomorrow revert to the BernardTps recommended strategy plus one covering combination bet of my own. The recommended strategy, which I just figured out last night, is to bet 1 unit on each of the bet combination provided as 1 of the bets should high returns and the other should cover your stake, which means you should at least get your stake back if the high odds bet fails. I realised this when I noticed that one of the matches in their 6-way tip was also in their double tip - i.e. they had only provided gold tips across 7 matches but split them across 2 bets with the intention of the double combination covering your stake.

I have to be honest their system takes a little getting use to and the tips do appear to vary from day to day and I am sure it will make more sense as the month progresses. I will provide an update tonight upon the outcome of my bets along with details, which I cannot provide now as I cannot publicise their tips until post the outcome of the matches

Day 1: Losing Day

Its fair to say that my month with Bernard Tips has not started well with the first bet losing:



It was not all bad for as you can see they did actually get 2 out of 3 correct, which is promising and suggests their tips have potential especially if I had bet differently.

I believe I was both wrong to combine the bets into a single treble and set the daily unit amonut to £4. I have received tomorrow's Gold tips and they are very different from today's, consisting of 8 matches split into 1 group of 6 and another of 2. Given this I am now going to reduce the individual bet unit to £2 and place £2 on the 6-way and £2 on the double (which is still £4 per day). I am also considering placing a covering Goliath bet on all 8 matches of £0.01 per bet, which will be £2.47 in total, and a heinz bet on the 6-way of £1 per bet, which will be £57 in total.

I am unsure of whether I should place the covering bets as these go against the BenardTips advice of betting 1 unit per day but I suspect not all 8 will come good and such covering bets will provide good returns if say 6 out of eight of the bets go right.

Day 1 - Let it Begin


The first scheme I am trying is a betting tipster site called BenardTips.com. I opted for this site after a few days of surfing and comparing as it had the fewest complaints against it. Not really much to go on but I decided after going through some mental arithmetic there was a real possibility this could make me the £10K per month and it was worth a shot for at least 1 month.

Now I will start by saying this service is far from free - it has actually cost me £167.34 for the 1st month as I took out the gold service - and such a price does distinctly smell of scam. However their customer service was very responsive to my questions and there published predictions did demonstrate a reasonable high success rate. The following cut of the website shows my membership details and that it is due to expire on 01/05/2012 just so you know this is for real:



Today I received my first tips - 1 over 2.5 prediction for silver and 1 combo bet of 2 results being over 2.5 for gold. I chose to combine the bets into a single treble and placed £4 on the combination with a potential win of approximately £28 using William Hill (my current favoured betting site). The following shows this bet registered on my William Hill account:



This seems to be the standard daily prediction and at such a rate I have determined I need approximately 15 winning days per month to make profit as well as cover the costs for next month's bets and tipster fee.

Overall I have invested £287.34 into this scheme with £120 going into my William Hill account to cover a month's worth of bets (assuming I bet £4 per day). The following shows my William balance after I placed my first bet:



I am not sure what will happen as the matches were fairy random and not popular matches so it does have some promise. I will update this evening to publish the outcome and if this scheme does prove successful - it will take roughly 5 months to achieve the £10k per month goal - I will fully publish the workings of my system so anyone can repeat it.

I will, however, be completely honest and if it fails then I will publish that as well and then it will be on to the next scheme
